Campaign Trail: Day 4
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Albert King - Born Under a Bad Sign

Hey Friends,

Frances just got here, and for some reason wanted to distance herself from the blog.  Wtf?  Oh well.  I guess she just gotta do what she gotta do yo.  But this is still her official website!!!  I feel like a professional website maker!  Wink  Lol, who would have thought that I'd be using something as X-treme as Angelfire!

Anyway, the main point of this post was to advertise the facebook group: Martel-Zimmermann for UC.  Join it!  For some reason we have less members than any of the other campaigns.  Cry  I sort of thought once we made our website people would start taking us seriously, but whatevs.

Oh, also, here are some pictures of Leo and Frances!!

Whoops!  Looks like we accidentally blocked Leo out of this picture!

Hope you like the pictures!!!  Laughing

Love,

Rachel  Kiss

PS, We'll be out in front of the Science Center from like 9:40-?  Look for us!  We'll be looking for you!

PPS, Does anyone know the name of the hot guy from the Sundquist Campaign?  Send me his name and room number.

Campaign Trail: Day 3
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: Hanson - Run Rudolph Run

Hey guys,

Well, we're just chillin' and illin' down here at the Campaign Head Quarters.  Zimmermann is, as per usual, not to be found.  We suggested working on the campaign and he gave us a terrified face, mumbled something that sounded like "I never agreed to this," and just ran out of the room.  He hasn't been seen for days now.  Well, I'm sure he's fine.  The other half of the ticket is arguing in Spanish with someone on the phone.  And one-third of the campaign staff (aka, Camille), is surfing away on ebay and shirking her duties.  However, we're still far more organized than we were days ago, and things are going great! Sealed

I'm here to defend Frances today, from some accusations that she's anti-Semitic or some such thing.  When I first heard that Frances was anti-Semitic, I felt betrayed.  Could my own friend hate me for who I am?  Could she hate her own vice-presidential candidate?? Surprised  I felt the campaign falling apart.  Though one of the stances of the campaign was to end racism and intolerance across the entire world, here was me, finding out that Frances could hate Jewish people!  Did she also hate Camille for being black?  Or what about Laura, our campaign manager, for having what she refers to as "multiple disabilities"?  Last night, Frances came to talk to me about her alleged hate of what she lovingly called "my people."  It only took a few shots of whiskey, and Frances was yelling, "I don't hate the Jews!  I love the Jews!"  And I  knew it was true.  I should have never doubted her!  Frances has shown nothing but love towards the Jews!  So to all you haters: suck on that!

Anyway, tomorrow we're going to continue campaigning in front of the Science Center.  We had a lot of fun doing it last time!  I think we're totally going to try flirting with those Sundquist campaign guys.  Like, I know they're on the opposing side, but they are WAY hot.  I wonder if that cute guy holding the sign was interested?  Like, I thought I saw him looking at me kinda sexily, but I don't really know, because I wasn't wearing my glasses.  I hope I see him again on Monday!  Kiss

Love,

 Rachel

Campaign Trail: Day 1
Mood:  on fire
Now Playing: Think, Aretha Franklin

November 30, 2007

Gentle Reader,

The campaign continues, and it's getting HOT! With the launching of our website, we've surpassed all expectations from the campus about our organizational capacity.  This just proves that we're a totally serious campaign, and now that we have our Angelfire website, no one can call us illegitimate!  I totally feel like people were dismissing us JUST because we didn't have our website up and running.  It was like, everytime you came to the website, it was an empty page, and people were like, "Hey, this isn't a legitimate campaign, there's no website!"  Well, to all you doubters: suck on this!

Since this is the first blog, I've decided to outline the key features of the Martel-Zimmermann campaign:

1. Restore UC Legitimacy: The UC has becoming a running joke on campus.  They do lame stuff like get our alcohol money taken away.  It will totally make the UC more legitimate if we have people in office who are willing to show those jokers what's what.  Try to take away our alcohol money?  I don't think so!

 2. Dance Parties: The lack of dancing on Harvard's campus is, to put it mildly, extremely disturbing and leaves one cold and clammy like waking up from a bad nightmare only to realize that that nightmare is reality.  Martel and Zimmermann refuse to allow this.  With them in office, we can wake up from this harrowing nightmare and move on with our lives.

 3. Bring Diversity to the UC: Martel is a Hispanic woman (the only one running, in this campaign, I may add), and Leo is a Jewish, possibly gay (he refuses to confirm or deny the rumors...I'm actually not sure if I should be outing him on my blog?) man.  If you don't vote for them, you may or may not be racist.

4. UC Militia: We need a standing army to protect ourselves from the inevitable invasion.  Right now, we're sorely underprepared.

5. End The Crimson: The Crimson is teh lamezors.  Obvi this campaign is WAY more legit than that "newspaper."

6. Egalitarianism: Martel and Zimmermann have promised to end world hungry, racism, and gender inequality.  And you know what?  I believe them.

7. E-QUAD-lity: End discrimination against Quadlings.  I guess this sort of goes under egalitarianism.  If everyone knows the Quad is better, why do we keep pretending like it's not?

What are the other people promising?  To get stuff done?  Experience?  Work ethic?  When I hear those words, I'm already almost asleep.  I wish you could see me yawning right now.  YAWN.  Boring.  Undecided

Come on people!  We need your vote.  The number of people voting for the Martel-Zimmermann ticket is 12 and counting!  You could be number 13!  We are so desperate for your votes, we will literally do anything!  In fact, we are willing to offer two hugs for anyone who votes for Martel-Zimmerman first on the ballot, one for anyone who votes them second, and a punch in the face for anyone who doesn't do either of those two things.  Are any of the other campaigns offering that?  I didn't think so.

Love,
